AT A GLANCE
- WHAT IT IS
- Cancelling a will you made earlier. No will is irrevocable, even one that says it is.
- WHEN YOU NEED IT
- When your circumstances have changed and the old will no longer says what you want.
- WHAT WE DO
- We advise on the right way to revoke it, usually through a new will that expressly cancels the old one.
There is no such thing as an irrevocable Will. Even if a Will contains a clause to the effect that it is irrevocable, the validity of the Will is not altered, but such a clause in a Will becomes redundant.
